VINHYLLNING

The shelf is made of wine soaked oak from an old 225 liters wine barrel. The project is made in collaboration with Nordic Sea Winery who has Systembolaget, the Swedish monopoly distributor of alcoholic beverages above 3.5%, as main customer. Vinhyllning is Swedish and "vin" means wine and "hyllning" means to praise but also shelving. The naturally curved shape of the bars was used to create a repetitive and geometric pattern. The wine scented oak with its red hue is highlighted to portray the story of the wine barrel. Treenails are used to assemble the shelf due to recycling reasons. To achieve circular economy we must start to reevaluate what we have around us and perceive all items as resources.
