KRINGELKROK
This project is an homage to my grandfather, who was one of Sweden’s most famous wood carvers during the 1940s and 1950s. I have 3D scanned his baroque wall candle holder, one of many that he carved by hand. The form is reinterpreted through contemporary processes, allowing historical craftsmanship to meet digital production.
At that time, the objects were gilded with gold leaf to highlight the curves of the crafted carvings. And to project wealth, power, and divinity. My hook is challenging the common perceptions of 3D-printed objects, with an almost hypnotic effect explored through non-linear textures and the combination of multiple colours.
The hook was part of the "Hook me up" exhibition during Southern Sweden Design Days 2025.
