VASKA

This project was made in collaboration with IKEA.

VASKA acts as a link between today’s linear water systems and the futures’ cyclic systems and prepares people for their cyclic thinking.

We generally waste 4 liters of water every time we wait for the tap water to get cold. Instead of letting this water run down the drain, you turn your faucet over the spout and collect the water in VASKA. The water can be reused through the containers’ tap for pre-rinsing dishes, washing hands, watering plants and other activities that do not require a specific water temperature. If the container gets overfilled the spouts’ second function is to assure that the water flows out, into the sink.

To give you an understanding of how much water you are saving and using, the volume is quantified in cups of coffee and portions of pasta water.

The project was exhibited during Furisalone 2019 in the Brera Design District, Milan, Italy.
